Delete your account

You can delete your Summoner account yourself, at any time, without asking us. Deleting
it erases your account and the data attached to it. This page explains how to do it, what
goes, what stays, and how to ask us if you can no longer open the app.
1. Delete it from the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
Open Summoner · go to You · scroll to the bottom
· tap Delete account and confirm.
You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.
2. If you cannot open the app
If you have lost the device, been locked out, or already uninstalled Summoner, email us
and we will do it for you.
Email support@vaultpointlabs.com with the
subject line "Delete my account".
Send it from the email address the account uses, and tell us the username, so we can be
sure the request is really yours. If you cannot email from that address, say so and we
will find another way to check.
We act on these within one month and usually within two business days.

3. What is deleted
Deleting your account removes, automatically:
- Your sign-in credentials and your profile - username, email address and avatar.
- Your phone number and the lookup entry that let friends find you by it.
- Your membership of every circle. Circles you created are handed to another admin, or to
the longest-standing member, so the group is not left stranded; a circle you were the last
member of is deleted outright.
- Your friendships, friend requests and blocks, removed from other people's accounts too.
- Your public Summons and your attendance of other people's, along with their chats,
photos and exact locations.
- Communities you own, transferred to a moderator or deleted if there is none.
- Your public reputation counts, your notification token and settings, and any moderation record.
- Your sticker set, your active status, your interests and your encryption key backup.
4. What stays, and why
We would rather tell you this plainly than let you find out afterwards.
- Messages you sent to other people. A private conversation belongs to
both of you, so your messages remain readable to the person you sent them to, marked with
an "account deleted" note. We cannot read them either way: they are end-to-end encrypted
and we hold no key. The one exception is a report: the other person can attach your messages
to a report, and then we read those. Circle messages likewise stay in the circle.
- Your username stays reserved and can never be registered again. This is
deliberate. Old conversations still list it, so releasing it would hand a stranger a name
that other people's chat histories still trust.
- Abuse reports about you or written by you are kept for two years after
we close the case, so that a safety record cannot be erased by deleting an account.
- Deleted files: we keep no backups of the database, but Google's file
storage lets us recover a deleted photo, video or file for 7 days. After that it's gone for good.
Google's sign-in service finishes removing a deleted account's data from its own systems and
backups within 180 days.
5. Deleting some data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete everything to remove something. In the app you can delete
individual messages, leave a circle, delete a conversation, cancel or delete a public Summon,
and remove your avatar. If you want a copy of your data, or a correction rather than a
deletion, those are rights you have under the GDPR - see
section 6 of the Privacy policy and write to the same address.
